Self-care / Self-love

Black women, we are a center point to our community. We are the nurturer, caretaker, and support system to others. The long-held trope of the “Strong Black Woman” has done so much damage in not allowing Black women to be seen as truly human and equally vulnerable, needing the same quality of care.  This includes self-care.  We carry too much on our shoulders, cape included.  This space is dedicated to self-love, the Black women who helped make this possible and the women of Louisville who may need a bit of positive energy.

  • I am the creator of my life. I can overcome anything!

  • I am a force to be reckoned with!  My complexion is as it should be, exquisite in every way.

  • My boldness will destroy the chains of preconceived notions and bring down walls of doubt…I belong here! I am wanted! I matter! Every day, I choose me!

  • I am grateful for my body, and I love and accept every inch of it!

  • I choose to thrive and live a full and whole life!

  • I am releasing whatever does not contribute to a space of wealth, health, and love.

  • At the intersection of my Blackness and my Womanhood is someone who is strong enough to be vulnerable.  I am always more than enough.” –  Kyla Holder

Take care of self: Allow yourself space to be authentically YOU. Set healthy boundaries from friends, family, work, and social media. Give yourself grace – perfection is a myth of man, and you are already a queen. Eat healthy whenever possible – our golden bodies need to be fed well for great physical and mental health. So, take care of HER – because SHE is Amazing! – Capric W.
